On occasion I will get photo work from a studio that I have worked with in the past. When the opportunity comes you say yes and make a couple of bucks. I am never afraid to take on a different or challenging assignment, in this case it was an Indian Baby Shower
My experience with baby showers has been the common western / christian traditional shower. mother to be walks into a room, a bunch of women yell “Surprise!” , they drink punch, and coo over little baby outfits. This was the polar opposite of what expected.
In the Indian culture the baby is blessed in a ceremony before the birth. This is done in a temple with about 300 of their closest friends and family. As the child is being blessed the parents look on attentively and close family surrounds them. On the other side of the room the rest of the crowd chats and eats, almost ignoring the whole event.
The Dad and Mom to be sit on a stage while the child is blessed and the smell of flowers and incense fill the air. the mother is panted and milk is poured over Indian deities, the mother is gently slapped in the face by young men, and strings are tied to the wrist. As you look through the pictures please bear in mind I am an old Irish Catholic and i am documenting this event from a truly unique perspective.
As with any event in any culture when ever you get a a large group of people together you’ll get dancing, games being played and a renewal of the bonds that exist in community. please enjoy my pictures
I have shot several weddings at the Westford Regency and was always pleased with the facility and staff. When I was there last there was a Big tent that would be perfect for a summer wedding. There’s a couple of nice spots for the formal photos and if you’re inventive enough you can come up with a few more locations for the couples portrait.
The great thing about a hotel wedding is the lack of traveling you and your guests will have to do. with all the pre-shots in the bridal suite, it’s a short walk to the ceremony, formal’s and reception… a little food for thought for your planning. In fact about half of the guests came from the west coast, so I am sure they where happy about the benefits of an all in one location
Union Station Wedding
Right in the heart of downtown Worcester, there’s a working train station that doubles as a wedding venue. The station offers colorful stain glass, marble floors and large windows that bring in light. There’s lot’s of nice backdrops that offer charm and history. Please enjoy these photos from a 7-7-7 (July, 7, 2007) wedding

I would like to thank both Bob and Lu-Ann for having me shoot their party it’s not often you get to document a once in a lifetime event such as this on Lake Naticook.
It was my pleasure to capture Jo and Torrie’s wedding, The rain added to the mood of the wedding , not grey and sorrowful, but joyous and warm. They had such a great time and I loved helping them out on their wedding day! The Wedding took place at the Alvirine Chapel in Hudson, NH with reception to follow at the California Room in Hudson, NH
Nashua, NH Wedding of Kristin and Dan.
For Kristin and Dan Nashua was their destination wedding. This couple from the sunshine state, brought all the warmth and joy they could to their June wedding.
The wedding took place at St Patrick’s Church in Nashua, NH. Built in 1909 this church added a spiritual backdrop to a wonderful event.
The Holiday Inn, Nashua was the setting for the reception.
A welcoming reception, brought, laughter and joy to cap off a perfect wedding day
The rest of the photos from the wedding can be found at my Online gallery. Here you may purchase and view the entire wedding. Please feel free to share with all your friends. http://pictage.com/1205730
A wedding rehearsal is a great opportunity for a photographer to get a feel for the wedding ceremony. I have photographed many weddings and have missed shots just because I just didn’t t know when a special moment such as a candle lighting or a first kiss should occur. I would like to thank Both Kristin and Dan for allowing me to take part in this very special part of the wedding.

Many of my clients ask about my experience when it comes to New England Barn Weddings. In my experience as a wedding photographer I would like to offer my viewpoint and review a few of the venues that I have shot at.
My first location is the Red Lion Inn, 71 So Main St in Cohasset MA. You can find them on the web at http://www.redlioninn1704.com/ this venue offers a lovely barn feel in a city setting. The barn looks like it was recently built and it has a well landscaped area in the back for the formal and group shots after a wedding.
Gibbit Hill Farm is a working Angus Beef farm with a touch of elegance. Stunning vista’s and gourmet dinners, offer you and your guests a great experience. This is an authentic historic New England Farm with a great history. Please check out their website at http://www.barnatgibbethill.com/ for more details.
This venue is the pinnacle of history, charm, and authenticity. A working museum and historic landmark located in the heart of Peabody. You would never know you were less than a couple of miles from the highway, car dealerships, and cityscapes. The grounds are beautiful working farmlands, with museum like buildings framing the scene. One of my favorite places to shoot! Here’s the website http://www.brooksbyfarm.org/
