About :
I have shot several weddings at Gibbet Hill and this was the first time where I was an invited guest. So here is my perspective on the location so you will be prepared to shoot an event there.
First off I would like to thank Jay and Amy for inviting my wife and I to their wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the location as well. Gibbet hill has a great staff and the food was outstanding.
First off the light:
I would recommend planning your wedding as close to sunset as possible. There’s not an inch of shade and a ton of harsh light during the morning, I would bring a reflector an assistant and if you can afford it a powerful light. I know what you’re thinking if I put the sun behind my subject and shoot as wide and as fast as I can I will be OK. That is true but due to the position of the sun it will limit you to a good backdrop. I would advise to bring all the gear you might think you’ll need. Be a good scout and be prepared. below are some examples of the morning light at Gibbet hill
